CONGRATULATIONS TERRIE MCCOLL!
Terrie McColl retired on December 31, 2024 after 19 years as the outstanding Director of the New Milford Public Library. Terrie oversaw the renovation of several areas of the library including a wall mural in the children’s room and a new circulation desk. She was instrumental in establishing the Sculpture Garden and drafted plans for a new Local History Room, which has not yet been completed. Terrie served as President of the New Jersey Public Library Association and the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS). She has served on numerous committees as well. Terrie is beloved by the Library trustees, patrons, staff and the public. She will be missed. About her career, Terrie says, “My whole library career, which has spanned more than forty years, has been driven by my commitment to making libraries the best they can be for the community they serve.”.
WELCOME STEPHANIE ELSTRO!
Stephanie Elstro became the new New Milford Public Library Director on January 1, 2025 replacing the wonderful Terrie McColl, who retired after 19 years as Director. Stephanie was the Director of the Palisades Park Library and before that she was a librarian in Brooklyn, NY. Stephanie is the co-chair of the BCCLS Technology Committee. Fun fact: Stephanie has a Master’s degree in Poetry! Stephanie looks forward to continuing to keep the New Milford Public Library “a vibrant hub for learning, connection and creativity.”
